Type of edge finishing
When I craft leather goods, I pay special attention to the edge finishing, which not only enhances the appearance of the product but also increases its durability. There are several options for edge finishing:
Polished with Tokonole and wax
This method involves using the Japanese product Tokonole, which smooths and seals the edge of the leather, giving it a refined and neat appearance. Afterward, the edges are coated with wax, adding a glossy finish and protecting them from moisture. Polished edges look very aesthetically pleasing and feel smooth to the touch, creating a professional and finished look.
Original, untreated edges
In this case, the edges of the product retain their natural texture and appearance. Original edges are ideal for those who appreciate the natural and authentic look of leather. They have a rougher look but preserve the raw beauty of the material, giving the product a vintage and rustic style.
